Walter E. Aye
Walter Edwards Aye is a private practitioner in Tampa, Florida focusing on business law, employment law, trade secrets and covenants not to compete. He has been practicing in Tampa since 1976. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A.), the University of Florida College of Law (J.D. with honors, law review, moot court), and the N.Y.U. Law School (Ll.m. in tax).
Mr. Aye is a mediator and arbitrator registered with the American Arbitration Association. He is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. He served as faculty member and chairman for Stetson University College of Law/Florida Bar Trial Skills Program (1997-2005). He is the past editor-in-chief for the Practice Management & Development Section of the Florida Bar and served as the section=s past chairman. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Florida Bar Labor & Employment Law Section, and served, upon request of the Florida Bar President, on the Special Technology Advisory Commission and the Solo and Small Firms Committee.
He is an author and lecturer on various legal and alternative dispute resolution (mediation & arbitration) topics, having lectured nationally and throughout Florida. Mr. Aye is listed in Who=s Who in American Law, Who=s Who in America, Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, Law and Leading Attorneys, and has an AAV@ rating with Martindale-Hubbell. He is admitted to practice before: Florida State Courts, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Claims ; U.S. Courts of Appeals (5th Cir.; 11th Cir.); U.S. District Court (M.D. Fla.).
Mr. Aye is very active in the community. He was appointed as Chairman of the Ybor City Development Corporation, an agency of the City of Tampa; is a Director of the Florida Storytelling Association; is Vice-Chair and Director of the Cuban Club Foundation; is a member of the Plant High School PTSA, serving on the Academic Foundation; and, is a member Tampa Bay Storytelling Guild. He is a storyteller to homeless children at the Metropolitan Ministries elementary school.
